A friend showed Lance this property—neither of us knew the first thing about growing truffles—but the place had a certain magic.
The property includes beautiful native forest protected by the Queen's Covenant Trust, with a river running through it—freezing cold but perfect for a refreshing swim—the land had so much to offer. It’s been a lot of work so far, with so much still to learn, but we’re incredibly grateful for the legacy left behind by the previous owners, Colin and Maureen Binns. After losing our roots when we had to leave Zimbabwe, and having lived in many countries and many houses since, it feels wonderful to finally find a place that feels like home.
